After juggling a hectic week of school and time-consuming extra curriculars, I decided to treat myself to a shopping trip. I’ve asked some of my sorority sisters where they bought the cute clothes they were wearing at the time and, and I received the same answer every time: Forever21.
It’s one of the most economic stores in the area to buy hip clothing. It gears for middle school girls to twentysomething women. Although you’re surrounded by lace and patterns you still need one one thing — time. Most clothing in Forever is junk. It might be bought by some poor girl without fashion sense or donated to charity.
This is where your skill and passion to shop come in. This passion will not always travel to the store with you, and might disappear mid-shop. Food is always a useful tool, and body image can be the key to new buys. However, the rare useless shopping trip can occur.
A seasoned shopper usually knows how to avoid these gas-wasters. I was apparently not wearing my seasoned shopper hat this week. I traveled to the Forever 21 thirty minutes away from my home in Cleveland, hoping to find some new evening or “going out” tops. Instead, I found thirty pre-teen girls and nothing that fit.
Don’t let this happen to you! There are two things you can do for yourself before you shop in order to find the best clothes at your favorite stores. The first is dress confidently. No one finds a floral dress while wearing sweats. Second, have a few specific pieces of clothing or accessories in mind before you enter the store.
Stay on track. Keep your eyes focused on the prize. If you are set on buying a black sequined top, then avoid those short skirts for $8.50 in the corner. Ignore the sparkling necklaces in the other room. Trust me, if you’re walking to your car in the end of the day WITH the sequined top and a few accessories then the trip will have been a successful one.
* Check out the store's website or blog before you go, too. I just discovered Forever 21's blog, and it's great!

Lauren,
I gotta say, I love your blog! As an avid lover of shopping American Eagle and Old Navy online, buying the 5 pack Hanes v-neck tees at Walmart (and wearing them with everything!), and driving to Easton from Athens just for Forever21, your blog is extremely relatable and will be a weekly read for me :)
You definitely hit the nail on the head with your recent Forever 21 post. The last time my roommmate and I made the pilgrimage to Columbus from A-town, we really didn't find much of anything. Although it's usually my favorite store, because it's so huge and has so much if you don't allow yourself a certain amount of time to sift through the junk, you won't find anything at all.
Like you mentioned, I usually try to go on their website ahead of time and look for items I might be interested in trying on in the store. Unfortunately, sometimes certain items won't be in stock and this can be a set back to your trip.
But i'm so excited to hear about Forever21's blog! I will definitely have to check that out ASAP. Thanks again for the great tip and keep up the good work!

Forever 21 (or XXI as my "cool" friends call it) is always a fun place to stop to shop when I'm at Easton, but... it's depressing.
I can only seem to think of all the things I CAN'T wear there instead of focusing on trying things I can. :/
Regardless, I think it has a great variety. People who enjoy wearing many different styles can go there and find something they all like.

I'm glad you girls like "XXI" as much as I do. I'm sure you'll agree there's a bunch of crap hidden among the racks, but it's worth the hours searching.
A shopping trip to Easton tops any weekend plan, Julie. But as for Old Navy — I find every piece of clothing I buy from there stretches out. I gave my gift card away because I didn't like anything there. Where did the good quality go?
